Old-school condensers were used to make this Speyside single malt and it’s been bottled at natural cask strength without any added colour, showcasing the big and bold character of wormtub condensers.

Wormtub 12 Year Old Single Cask | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: The sherry character is amped up, with plenty of raisins, candied citrus, spicy fruitcake, and toasted oak.

Palate: Plenty of sherry influence, along with toasted walnuts, spiced biltong, and dried currants.

Finish: Long and savoury.

Distillery Information

Wormtubs are big ol’ wooden tubs with a long copper coiled tube submerged in water inside of them. A classic bit of distilling kit, used to condense the vapour after as it comes out of the still, turning it into spirit. Many distilleries have got rid of them in favour of more efficient, easier to maintain condensers, but some distilleries continue to use wormtubs. The whiskies from these distilleries are what go into Wormtub blended malt Scotch whisky!
