With a love for fashion since childhood, Vera Wangs career started at the age of 23 when she was named the youngest ever Vogue fashion editor and stylist. She remained at Vogue for 16 years before moving to Ralph Lauren as a design director. It was not until after designing the gown for her own wedding, that Vera Wang discovered her love and natural talent for bridal design. She opened her flagship store on Manhattans Madison Avenue in 1990, introducing fashion to the bridal industry with contemporary designs and refined details. She has grown to become one of the most renowned designers in bridal, with boutiques all over the world. Over the years, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has honored Vera Wang for her achievements; she was named Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2005, and received the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Today, Vera Wang designs continue to grace red carpets and wedding aisles worldwide, and her brand has grown to include everyday fashion, luxury home goods, fragrances, and jewelry.
