This expression comes to us from the Takamaka range of rums, produced in the Seychelles. Showing off the team’s blending skills, Pti Lakaz is made with pot and column still cane rums aged in a combination of casks (including Port casks), blended with molasses rum aged in bourbon casks and aged rum from the Foursquare Distillery. Complex and satisfying stuff indeed!

Nose: Cherry, butterscotch, liquorice, apricot, chocolate, cassia notes.

Palate: The palate is very powerful and complex.

Finish: Finish is very smooth and long.

Distillery Information

Takamaka rum is produced in the Seychelles, on the island of Mah in the Trois Frres distillery by the DOffay family. The estate was founded on an old tropical spice plantation site, La Plaine St Andr, by French settlers over 200 years ago. The distillery has been operating since 2002, and is the first and only commercial rum producer and exporter in the Seychelles. The sugarcane used is grown in four different regions of Mah by independent farmers, and is then crushed, distilled, aged and blended on site. Takamaka rum is named after a local bay on the island and is the name of local tree.
