The Tessendier family has been producing Cognac for four generations, but here we see cellar masters, and brothers, Jrme and Lilian Tessendier applying their aging and blending skills to a different spirit rum! The blend combines rum from Barbados and Trinidad, each matured in bourbon barrels in their native climate for five years before shipping to Charente to spend 12 months marrying in Cognac barrels. Finally, the rum spends three months in Pedro Ximnez sherry casks, imparting a magnificent boost to its already fruit-forward profile.

Distillery Information

Distillerie Tessendier & Fils was founded in 1950 and today is run by brothers Jrme and Lilian Tessendier, master blender and cellar master. Together they oversee a brand that creates its own lines of Cognac and more, as well as sourcing and ageing rum. To make the Cognac, Distillerie Tessendier & Fils grows its own grapes, experiments with fermentation techniques, ages its spirits in locally sourced barrels, and bottles on-site. The brand uses six pot stills and owns 14 cellars located locally, with a stock capacity of 12 million litres, including 20,000 French oak barrels. Below is a great range of Cognacs, which includes the traditional VS to more innovative creations like mizunara-finished expressions. Theres also Saison Rum which boasts traditional rums (pale, original, reserve, and XO) to cask finished options and blends including triple cask Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad.
