The Rum Reserve is a successful marriage of different rum styles from three Caribbean islands: Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados. For this, 3 different rum distillates (distilled from fresh sugar cane and molasses) are combined. It contains heavy notes of molasses rum baked in the pot still, as well as the lightness of rum made from sugar cane distilled in the column still. Each of the participants in this blend aged up to eight years in American white oak barrels in their Caribbean homeland. The blends are not married until they are united in the French city of Cognac and then – together – aged for 12 months in former cognac barrels. After pouring, let the Caribbean blend breathe something in the glass – to unfold.

Saison Reserve Rum Tasting Notes

Nose: Complex fruit notes, with powerful spice and velvety-scented vanilla.

Palate: Well-matured, round texture with fruity sweetness, vanilla cream, caramel, spices and a hint of oak.

Finish: Pleasantly long, fruity-fresh finish.

Distillery Information

Distillerie Tessendier et Fils, which makes Saison rum, is located in the North-East of Cognac, France. Cognac Park is produced by a family-owned company Tessendier, whose lineage goes back to the year 1880.
