What Plantation rum has done here is taken a single cask of yummy rum that was made by Demerara Distillers in Guyana in 2007 and matured for 13 years, then transported it to France, where sister distillery Ferrand popped it into a Cognac cask for a year. This complex creation was then treated to a further seven-month finish in a Teeling single malt Irish whiskey cask. It was bottled at 53.7% ABV with all-natural colour. So, it’s Guyana rum that’s got influences from Cognac and Irish whiskey. Got it? Good. Now drink it. It’s delicious.

Nose: Aromas of oak spice, cloves, cinnamon, pepper, tar, roast chestnuts, summer berries, thyme and honey fill the nose.

Palate: complemented by notes of oranges, plums, peaches, maple syrup, molasses and leather on the palate.

Finish: Finish is very smooth and long.
