Here we have the Solera Reserve edition of Martin Miller’s 9 Moons gin. Whereas the original expression is matured in bourbon casks, this bottling spent its nine moons (or in layman’s terms, months) in a French oak solera cask over in Iceland. It’ll be intriguing to compare the two cask types against each other, we reckon.

Distillery Information

Martin Millers London Dry was launched in 1999, launched around a decade ahead of the gin boom. Martin Miller quested to create a seductive gin so good that it would rejuvenate the market, experimenting with different combinations and proportions of botanicals. The gin is distilled at Langleys distillery in the west midlands using traditional methods, with the help of the beloved copper pot still named Angela. Once the distillation is over, slightly absurdly, the gin is then taken on a 3,000 mile round trip to Iceland to be blended with some of the worlds purest water. Sadly, Martin Miller passed away in 2013, though he left behind him a heritage that will long be remembered.
