This expression was released by indie bottler 1423 and carries the name Albion in honour of the long-lost Guyanese distillery, which closed down in the late 1960s. A total release of 231 cask strength bottles.

Nose: Spicy aromas of pepper and oak with a sweet hint of Manuka honey, some complex and fruity aromas followed by dried papaya.

Palate: More spices with ginger and oak.

Finish: Dry with some cocoa aromas.

Distillery Information

1423 began as a hobby but is now a leading Danish spirit importer and distributor, established in 2008. The business is home to hundreds of rum barrels and helps brands like La Maison du Rhum, Bristol Spirits, and Worthy Park reach a wider consumer base. 1423 also bottles its own rum, beginning with a few hundred bottles of a Barbados-Trinidad blend, which was bottled in November 2008 and released at the beginning of 2009. The number of the sample was 14423, but an error meant it was listed as 1423 which gave the company its name.
