Nose: Vanilla, Caramel, Butterscotch, and Cooked Agave. The aromas coming of our Extra Aejo will make your mouth water!

Palate: Vanilla, Caramel, Butterscotch, and Cooked Agave. These flavors come naturally from aging 5 years in American and French Oak Barrels!

Finish: Smokey yet smooth. This is not your college tequila. To call the finish unique would be an understatement. You need to taste it to fully appreciate it!

Distillery Information

Like any good origin story, Elevaso Tequila came into existence because of Ross’ passion and will to create something unique. Our story starts with Ross Elgart, our founder, as an associate at the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in New York City. Like most young law firm associates, Ross was working around the clock at the law firm, and on his free time was finding his way both personally and professionally – experiencing everything law firm life in New York City had to offer. Part of that experience was his introduction to Scotch – the staple of law firm life back then (Ross is in his late 40s now, so he’s too old to have caught the whiskey craze!). Scotch represented sophistication – it represented growing up. It’s what you drank with your colleagues, and more importantly, it’s what you drank with the partners in the law firm. Like most, Ross moved from blended scotches to single malt scotches. Ross enjoyed Scotch (particularly single malt Scotch). One night, while dining at a Mexican restaurant, a relative visiting from out of town insisted that they drink Tequila. When he tells this story, Ross immediately recalls his flashbacks to college and spring break in Mexico, i.e., SERIOUS HANGOVERS! The relative pressed on that this Patron Silver he had ordered was not the college tequila we all remembered. Luckily Ross agreed to try it, because had he not, there would be no Elevaso! Since that moment, 20 years ago, Ross became an avid tequila drinker – he became “TEQurious” – always trying new tequilas. As the years went on, it became more and more difficult for Ross to find tequila he hadnt already tried. One day in the summer of 2017 while sipping on an Extra Aejo in his backyard, Ross got an unexpected call. It was from an owner of an established tequila brand one that Ross thoroughly enjoyed and drank regularly. That call opened up doors Ross didnt even know existed. What if he could take his TEQurious habit to the next level and actually create his own tequila? What if he could create his own flavor profiles that his friends and family could enjoy?
