Nose: Very inviting nose packed with spice, rum and toffee.

Palate: Full creamy texture with seductive roundness and extremely smooth flow across the palate. Flavours of spice, toffee and rum fill the mouth with fine spirity lift highlighting everything.

Finish: Ongoing release of flavours and aromatics in very long, well sustained finish.

Distillery Information

El Dorado is a producer and distillery of rum in Guyana, the tropical country of northeast South America. Since the 17th Century, the county of Dermerara on the Atlantic coast has held a rich tradition of sugarcane farming and rum production. The rich mineral content content of the soil here is well-suited to sugarcane farming and by the 1800s, there were hundreds of rum distilleries scattered throughout the county. In the 1900s, the price of sugar dropped forcing severe consolidation of the industry. Today, the sole remaining distillery owned by Demerara Distillers Limited is home to El Dorado rum production. The portfolio of blended rums are selection of different vintages. The entry-level 3-year-old El Dorado the youngest expression well-suited for mixing in a cocktail. The 5, 8, 12,15 and 21-year-old expressions are all aged in oak barrels with the collection led by the 25-year-old Grand Special Reserve.
