The first Boutique-y Rum trip to Guatemala, known for its multi-cask type solera blends that are presented in the sweeter style. This bottling from Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones Sociedad Annima (DARSA) was distilled in 2008 and matured in an ex-bourbon cask in Guatemala for four years before being transferred to the UK for a further nine years. It’s a rum that allows fans a snapshot of an untouched component before it becomes muddled in the magic of the solera.

Darsa Distillery is a rum distillery located in Guatemala. The company was founded in 1948 by the Dardon family and is still owned and operated by the family today. The distillery produces a range of rums under the brand name Ron Botran.The production process at Darsa Distillery starts with the selection of the highest quality sugar cane. The cane is then harvested and the juice is extracted and boiled to create molasses. The molasses is then fermented using a unique blend of yeasts, which helps to give Ron Botran its distinctive flavor.After fermentation, the rum is distilled using a combination of column and pot stills. The rum is then aged in a variety of oak barrels, including American white oak, Spanish sherry casks, and French Limousin oak. The aging process helps to develop the complex flavors and aromas of the rum.
