Avion Tequila Reposado | 375ML Tasting Notes

Nose: The aroma is bright and vegetal with an undercurrent of vanilla, crusty bread, and toasted oak.

Palate: Warm agave notes arrive at the palate first, followed by green bell pepper and a surprising array of subtle fruits pear, apricot, and tart cherry.

Finish: The finish is medium length and warm with lingering notes of black pepper and plantains.

Distillery Information

Just outside the town of Jesus Maria in the highlands of Jalisco, the Lopex family grows agave plants for making Tequila. At some of the highest elevations, single origin, blue agave is grown for 7 to 10 years there. Ken Austin found the family and partnered with them to make a new Tequila together creating Avion Tequila. The highlands have the best volcanic soils and perfect combination of micro climates to produce the best Tequilas in the world. In fact, their signature Tequila was awarded Worlds Best Tasting Tequila and Worlds Best White Spirit in 2012 against 1400 other spirit brands at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Avion is crafted with a simple philosophy creating a single origin Tequila through craft processes to ensure the natural, rich, and roasted flavors of the Avion agave. There are a few other things that help Avion stand out. The use or traditional clay ovens to slow roast the 100% blue agave, charcoal filtration, and a full copper pot still contribute greatly to their signature style.
