A Secret Speyside 9 Year Old 2009 (Private Label) | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Cinder toffee, brioche, yeasty, with sweet, soft barley, creamy rice pudding, butterscotch, milk bottle sweeties, and a bakery load of buttered pastries.

Palate: White chocolate buttons land first, followed by a bold backing of peppery malt. Complex layers of roasted chestnut, chewy toffee, and butter biscuits assemble beside robust oak and sherry-soaked sultanas.

Finish: A final flash of pepper arrives on the end, leaving a warm finish, cushioned by hearty layers of drying oak, biscuity barley, and burnt caramel.

Distillery Information

Master of Malt was founded in 1985. When it comes to bottling, they like to leave things unadulterated. they never add caramel colouring to whiskies, and prefer to leave them at natural cask strength. In the rare occasion when they lower the bottling strength never, ever use chill-filtration. “we believe this affects the flavour of good spirit, and we cant have that!”
