Chteau Bouscaut is a family-owned property situated within the Pessac-Lognan appellation. The estate was classified as Grand Cru Class de Graves in 1959, for both its red and white wines. The 1975 vintage is now a lovely, aged claret, with nutty, earthy and toffee flavours complementing a floral blackberry core.
Chteau Bouscaut is an estate in the Pessac-Lognan appellation situated on the left bank of the Garonne river. It was classified as Grand Cru Class de Graves in 1959, for both its red and white wines. Les Chnes de Bouscaut is the label for the second wines.The Chteau Bouscaut grand vin is typically a blend of 65 percent Merlot, 20 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 15 percent Malbec. This wine is made from vines that are 35 years old on average, and are grown in a mixture of clayey-calcareous and gravel soils. In the winery, vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks and the wine aged in 40 percent new oak barrels.Chteau Bouscaut’s white wine is made from 60 percent Sauvignon Blanc and 40 percent Smillon grapes. It fermented ferment with battonage and matured in oak barrels, around half of which are new.
