Joining the super-premium range of Tequila from Clase Azul, this Extra Aejo is the jewel in its crown! Treated to five years of maturation, beginning in American whiskey casks and finishing in ex-Spanish sherry casks, it’s delightfully decadent and supremely silky. The decanter is masterfully hand-painted by artisans, with the design including three precious metals platinum, silver, and 24-karat gold, and astonishingly, much of the design is painted from memory, as the glaze only shows up on the dark background after firing. Impressive stuff in every way.

Clase Azul Ultra Extra Aejo Tequila | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: This tequila is dark amber in colour, extremely seedy, with a generous body and intense aromas. The rich, sweet aroma of this tequila has warm notes of maple syrup, hazelnut, and cherry topped off with a hint of sherry.

Palate: Strong notes of sweet, delicate oak come through in the flavour of this potent luxury tequila along with crme caramel, and cinnamon.a.

Finish: The finish has powerful hints of dried plum and vanilla that will make every sip sweeter than the last.

Distillery Information

Mexican founder Arturo Lomeli launched Clase Azul in 1997, and the label has come a long way since the original sombrero packaging it was originally bestowed with. Now, the Tequila is presented in recognisable hand-sculpted, hand-painted ceramic decanters. This may have something to do with the fact that Lomeli went and got a Masters Degree in Marketing in 2000, as well as studying to become a Master Distiller.
