No. 186 Gin is a family business, run by husband and wife team, Matt and Lynsey. The spirit is named after and served in their bar in Manchester City Centre, founded with their friends/business partners, One Eight Six. Their gin journey began in 2013 when Matt was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and had to reduce his sugar intake. One thing they did was swap their regular tipples for gin. Not just any gin though, they became passionate about premium craft gin, sampling unique drops from the UK and beyond. After years spent tasting, comparing and studying how the best gins are made, they decided to create their very own something premium and using locally sourced ingredients. And after lots of testing and tweaking, their perfect No. 186 premium gin was created. Crafted from the highest quality local ingredients, sustainable practices and nothing else. And best of all, it contains no added sugar, meaning Matt (and everyone else) can enjoy the gin experience, without worrying about sugar levels. Following the popularity of the gin throughout Manchester, their home town of Lytham St Annes and local surrounding areas, Matt and Lynsey, along with the team behind One Eight Six, are excited to now be sharing their creation with gin lovers across the UK pouring the Spirit of the North into every glass, wherever its served. This premium gin is created thanks to the natural resources available locally, but not everyone is as fortunate. Thats why, for every bottle purchased, 2,000 litres of water is donated to communities in need through the partnership with Water for Kids. This charity aims to preserve and protect the good health of children and communities in the developing world by assisting in the provision of safe drinking water, good sanitation and other public health-related measures.
