Nose: A fabulously decadent nose of intense, sweet vanilla and flamed orange zest. The cardamom makes itself known by offering up an evocative suggestion of old-fashioned cola, and to this the cloves bring out a deep, dark complexity. Yet more sweetness with cinnamon, which melds beautifully with essential oil notes of Seville orange peel.

Palate: At once a fabulous mix of thick cut bitter orange marmalade and tingling, zinging spices. Hints of Manuka honey and mouth-watering cinnamon form its heart, with molasses, candy floss, toffee apples, crme brle and clove-studded oranges.

Finish: A long finish, with tongue-prickling spices, and a stunning degree of freshness as cinnamon, orange and creamy, sweet vanilla notes coat the palate for minutes.

Ableforths is best known for the multi-award-winning Bathtub Gin and Rumbullion! spiced rum. Since launching in 2011, the range has grown significantly, using time-honoured techniques such as cold compounding as well as cold distillation for their 91.2% abv absinthe, Summer Fruit Cup and Christmas Mulled Cup! Rumbullion is now available in Navy-Strength as well as XO 15 Years Old variants whilst the regular edition is also available in a Magnum (1.5 litre) bottle. The cockle-warming spiced rum picked up the award for the Best Spiced Rum at the World Rum Awards 2015.
