Founded in Beaune in 1720, Maison Champy is the oldest wine company in Burgundy. It is widely recognized for the quality of its Grands Crus from the Cte de Nuits and the Cte de Beaune, and its Corton-Charlemagne in particular. Maison Champy is the oldest wine company in Burgundy boasting a history dating back to 1720. Maison Champy runs a large part of its 21 ha of vines on the Cte de Beaune especially in Pernand-Vergelesses organically in order to preserve and highlight the true character of this exceptional terroir. Precision wine growing is Maison Champys objective. The importance of the environment means that every single treatment follows the practices of sustainable and organic farming.The winery, which has been declared a historic monument by UNESCO, was designed by the famed architect, Gustave Eiffel and sits above an ancient 15th-century Jacobin monk cellar, where the wines are aged in the heart of Beaune.
